Helping Kids Be Kids

Do you have a child:

· Who isn't interested in books or toys, fidgets constantly, or doesn't look at what he is doing? They can't learn effectively.  Let us help you discover what motivates them and makes their body ready to learn.

· Who refuses to touch, smell, taste, or look at toys or textures?  A child needs to effectively learn to use information derived from all the senses that pick up input from the environment (vision, hearing, touch, smell, & taste) as well as from inside the body (movement & internal body awareness) for a child to function at their best. We can help create a sensory enriched day.

· Who has difficulty with drawing, using scissors, buttoning, or stringing beads?  Their small hand muscles are still maturing  & they may not have developed the strength, coordination, or dexterity they need. We use play to help them learn.

· Who needs help stacking blocks or doing puzzles? A child must be able to perceive differences & relationships between objects in the environment. We take a look at functional vision.

· Who needs help with coloring and/or handwriting skills, from the basics of coloring inside simple shapes to letter formation?  We use a fun multi-sensory approach to handwriting, including use of touch (e.g., from vibrating writing utensils to using a wet finger to write on a chalkboard) & sound (teaching a special story about how a specific letter is formed).

Or do you have concerns with your child’s:

·     play skills      ·    feeding skills    ·    sleeping patterns    ·    attention to task     ·     coordination
